Pronto Splashes

Finally Pronto Splashes.... Yep, Pronto will finally be in the water on Friday! WE will do the river trip and the mast stepping. I am just hoping the weather will hold out to accomplish everything. The deck has been painted, the new floors installed and the bottom finished. Pronto looks great, well I haven't seen the deck yet, but the bottom is VERY smooth. It looks like the boat is in top racing condition for this year and we will have no excuses not to do well. I cant wait until racing starts. Peter

Latest News - Pronto Upate

Pronto is undergoing serious changes this year. I have lots of picture and video which I will upload shortly. Pronto is in the process of getting a major overhaul. Yep. Several things are being done to her this year. 1) The bottom has been professionally sanded and repainted with baltoplate paint. The bottom is incredibly smooth. It is a serious racing nottom now. 2) Pronto has a couple squish ares on the deck. This was on both of the chain plates. Marine services has opened the deck and removed all the bad balsa. It has been drying with fans on them for a couple weeks now. They will repair the patch and have guaranteed me that there will be NO water seepage in there any more. 3) Since the deck is torn apart and the anti-skid is very old the deck is getting repainted. This process includes laying down new gelcoat, applying the grit and 3 layers of paint to the deck. She is going to look like brand new! 4) The floorboards inside last year rotted. I replaced the boards this year with a new floor. It simply looks awesome. Stay tuned for pictures and video of the project! Peter

-- Media Gallery Installed, pictured imported. -- Added lots of menu item, bare with me while I get them all working. -- imported several of the old site pages (see menu item above) -- Forum installed. This is where we will keep Names, Addresses and Phone numbers of crew broken down by year. If someone needs to find a replacement for a scheduled event this is where you wil find the best list. -- Forum is also a good place to share tips, tricks and new ideas for improving pronto. -- Forums is secure and the information in it will be confidential.

Media Gallery

Media Gallery is installed. This will allow users to import and upload pictures to the website! In addition all of the 1900+ photo's that I had installed in Coppermine have been imported into the new system. This system is better because the Media Gallery supports multiple formats including pictures, audio and video. Media Gallery is also integrated into the blog where users can add comments to individual pictures. I hope everyone enjoys the new system. The blog is super because I can now add more comments and pictures without going directly into the html / php that I originally wrote the website with. Enjoy! Peter

Pronto II on Cover of Mac SI's

On this year's 2007 Sailing Instructions for the Chicago to Mackinac race Pronto II was featured on the cover from Last Years start. Yep, Its kind of cool to see our boat on the cover. This picture is taken form the race committee boat looking west at the city of Chicago.

I have changed the DNS for the website.

We are now prontoracing.com The new site will have links to all the information in the old site including many new features. I have installed geeklog and my BLOG software to allow me to publish updates and stories easier. In addition crew members will be allowed to post comments to the stories written here.
